Multi Cycle Bypass Valve

Sidetrack drilling out of an existing wellbore is actually another application 

directional drilling, and we are providing several effective solutions for sidetrack drilling.

1. General Description

Multi cycle bypass valve (MCBPV) is a necessary bypass circulation tool for sidetrack drilling. It gets controls respectively on the position of lower anchoring device and circulation of drilling fluids during sidetrack operation.

2. Function

When the sidetrack drilling assemblies are running in down hole, MCBPV provides circulating passage way for it, and when it is located in its place and need to set the anchoring device after locating the working profile, increase mud displacement to shut off the passage way of MCBPV, enable the pressure inside of strings to set the anchoring device.

3. Fundamental Structure

MCBPV is composed of upper sub, filter, body, hole plug, sliding sleeve, piston, surface bearing, spring, plug, surface bearing, O ring and other parts. (See Figure One)

All the steel parts of MCBPV apply AISI 4145H Modified Alloy Steel, tensile strength ≥900 Mpa, yield strength ≥800 Mpa, elongation ＞13%, and hardness at each point between HB295-HB340. All the steel parts are tested with ultrasonic test (UT) and magnetic particle test (MT).
